MLB renews relationship with 15 Seconds of Fame

by admin

Major League Baseball and 15 Seconds of Fame (15SOF), a technology and social media platform, on Tuesday announced a renewed long-term partnership. In addition, MLB has also taken a minority equity stake in 15SOF. The 2023 season marks the sixth season 15SOF will work with MLB to provide fans access to personal video content from live baseball broadcasts and in-ballpark videoboard feeds.

15SOF’s one-of-a-kind technology enables users to seamlessly receive and share video clips from personal appearances on live baseball game telecasts and jumbotron feeds — capturing some of fans’ most memorable in-stadium moments. The agreement provides 15SOF the ability to leverage fan footage from jewel events such as the MLB All-Star Game presented by Mastercard and the World Series presented by Capital One and creates new opportunities for MLB and 15SOF to collaborate on unique sponsorship integration opportunities. MLB will also integrate 15SOF into the free MLB Ballpark app, available in the Apple Store and Google Play, so fans can access clips of themselves that appeared on videoboards in MLB ballparks.

“Since our initial partnership in 2017, 15 Seconds of Fame has helped our fans relive and cherish their favorite ballpark moments as the original and future personalized digital souvenir,” said Casey Brett, MLB Senior Vice President, Business Development.  “15SOF is a very unique asset, and with this investment and extended partnership, we look forward to delivering baseball fans the memories that they deserve.”

“15 Seconds of Fame was created for the fans, allowing them to enjoy the experience of a live event while we deliver the epic and nostalgic moments for them to keep and share forever.  Given MLB’s leadership in innovation and focus on the ultimate fan experiences, they a perfect partner.” said Michael Mackey, Chief Business Office at 15 Seconds of Fame.  “Today’s announcement with MLB is a continuation of our partnering with best-in-class licensors of content globally.”
